“The route will be traced on and around the Beringen slag heap, the site where the famous annual Beringen cyclocross also takes place and where the Belgian cyclocross championships will be organized in 2026,” said the organization.

Shorttrack cross-country (XCC) will kick off the festivities on July 19 in all categories (U17, Juniors, U23, Masters, Elite 3 and Elite). The next day, the U15 and Elite 3 will run the Olympic cross-country (XCO). On the national holiday, Sunday July 21, the XCO races will take place in the other categories, with the elites in apotheosis.

Pierre de Froidmont and Emeline Detilleux are the reigning elite champions. They won in XCO in 2023 in Houffalize, where the Belgian championships have taken place for the last five years. When the Belgian mountain bike championships took place for the last time in Beringen, in 2012, Kevin Pauwels and Githa Michiels were crowned.
