A last weekend of April under a gloomy sky. Météo has placed 53 departments on yellow alert for a risk of thunderstorms this Friday April 26, 2024.

In Isère, the municipalities located in the Rhône valley should be affected by this stormy episode.

Here is the weather forecast for the next few days in Grenoble, in the Alps and in northern Isère.

Gusts of wind in Grenoble

In Grenoble, this Friday is marked by showers. A southerly wind will sweep away the clouds offering a dry Saturday with very pleasant temperatures.

Gusts could reach 50 km/h in the capital of the Alps. Temperature-wise, the mercury will be between 9 and 21°C on Saturday.

For the days of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the forecast indicates numerous clouds and sand-laden rains coming up from the south.

Snow in the Alps

From this Friday, April 26, snowfall is expected in the Alpine massifs. Weather data sets the rain-snow limit at 1,800 meters.

Apart from certain ski resorts in the Belledonne massif such as Alpe d’Huez, few Isère towns should be affected by the snowflakes.

Sahara sand on Sunday?

The sand-laden clouds from the Sahara will hit Corsica first. The phenomenon will rise again under the influence of a southerly wind.

According to forecasts, the first sand rains should take place at the end of the day this Sunday, April 28, 2024.

This sandy mass should leave the sky in Isère and the Alps in the middle of next week.
