A player from Haillicourt in Pas-de- who thought he had only won 3.50 euros in the Euromillions then realized that he had in fact won a million, Bleu learned from the Française des Jeux, Friday April 26.

On March 22, the regular scratch card player took a detour for an errand, when he decided to stop at a tobacco shop to validate 4 Euromillions flash grids. The man used to check the results of the draw in the newspaper. He thinks he won 3.50 euros with his grids. “I saw a gain of 3.50 euros and I was very happy” he explains to the FDJ.

The player then puts the newspaper down, satisfied with having won this modest gain. Then he realizes that he has not checked the Euromillions-My Million code, a code of letters and numbers drawn at random every Tuesday and Thursday, from all the validated grids.

He realizes that he has won much more. “And then I couldn’t hold back my tears, the emotion was so strong. A million euros thanks to the code, it’s just incredible” says the winner.

The month of March will become a fetish for this player, he confides to the SDJ: “In March, very beautiful things often happened to me: the birth of loved ones, and now this gain. It will become my favorite month and the 3rd, why not, a lucky number.”
