The bishop appoints a Vaudois vicar general

Published today at 1:59 p.m.

The bishop of the diocese of Lausanne, Geneva and Fribourg, Charles Morerod announces the appointment of a new vicar general for a 5-year mandate. This is Father Jean-Claude Dunand, 67 years old, currently moderating priest of the intercultural pastoral unit Nyon – Holy Land (Nyon and Founex). He will gradually take up his functions at the bishopric of Friborg from May 1st.

This appointment comes at a time when the diocese already has two vicars general, currently absent. Auxiliary bishop Alain de Raemy was appointed apostolic administrator in the diocese of Lugano, while Bernard Sonney stepped aside in connection with allegations of harassment revealed by the diocese last September.
