in Indre, actions to promote the emergence of citizen collectives

Since its launch two years ago, “around fifty collectives” have emerged in the Centre-Val de region, according to Jérémie Godet, vice-president of the regional council responsible for energy transition. Led by the Region, the European Life Let’s go 4 climate project aims to “accelerate the production of renewable energy and reduce collective and individual energy consumption”. “Rather than undergoing the energy transition, the idea is to become an actor in it”specifies the elected official.

In Indre, after Châteauroux Métropole, the Écueillé-Valencay community of communes and the Champagne-Boischaut community of communes, it is the turn of the Éguzon-Argenton-Vallée de la Creuse community of communes to embark on this program: it will be presented on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the Saint-Gaultier village hall, following the performance of the show The Cabaret of Metamorphoses. Several participatory workshops will be organized in the region in the coming year, promoting “the emergence of citizen groups carrying out renewable energy production or energy efficiency projects”.

For two years, Jérémie Godet has been referencing, throughout the region, the creation of “twelve citizen investment cooperatives to produce renewable energy, mainly photovoltaic” and around thirty involved in energy efficiency projects, “carpooling, car sharing, repair café, etc.”.
