Châteauneuf-sur-Isère: Châteauneuf history and heritage announces great events

Under the leadership of their president Florence Martel Koemmerer, the volunteers will propose new and beautiful projects in the service of local heritage.

This year again, the Châteauneuf History and Heritage association, CHP will not be short of activities!

A musical evening planned this summer

From May, the association will once again participate in the national event The Spring of Cemeteries. This year, the proposed theme is “Women in cemeteries“. Saturday May 25 and Sunday May 26, CHP will invite the people of Châteauneuvois to accompany them to discover these illustrious unknowns. “Contrary to popular belief, supports the president, There is nothing morbid about walking the paths of a cemetery. On the contrary, they are real open-air museums where sculptures, engravings and architecture come together to be discovered..” We can bet that, this time again, these guided tours will find their audience, local or from further afield.

A musical evening is scheduled for Saturday July 6 on the troglodytes site. “We will receive the Big Montplaisir Music in the village hall in case of bad weather”, specifies Florence Martel Koemmerer. Barely time to take a summer break when September will already be here with its traditional Heritage Days in which CHP always willingly participates. “We will continue with our annual exhibition on October 4, 5 and 6 in the Eau vive room. We will stay in the theme of spring of cemeteries and we will highlight women who have marked the history of the town“, announces the president. On this subject, she would very much like the restoration of the statue of Lady Ermengarde of Burgundy to finally be effective. “Dame Ermengarde will be at the heart of our exhibition and our next magazine Sizes and Details which will be published at the end of the year. they specify.

Added to these initiatives is the welcoming of associative groups and the participation in the Collective of Heritage Associations and the Heritage, Sustainable Development, Agriculture and Tourism Commission.
