The attack was carried out shortly after 2 p.m. near a school group in the town of Souffelweyersheim. A suspect has been arrested.
Two girls aged 6 and 11 were slightly injured during a knife attack that occurred in Souffelweyersheim (Bas-Rhin), in the rue de l’école, BFM Alsace and BFMTV learned from consistent sources this Thursday April 18.
According to the Bas-Rhin prefecture, which communicates on an operation being underway “near a school and a square”, the two children affected by the attack are in “relative emergency”.
School confined
The attack occurred shortly after 2 p.m. this Thursday. The individual, born in 1995, was arrested five to ten minutes after the incident. According to a Source close to the investigation, the attacker does not seem to have all his mental faculties.
According to a municipal advisor to BFM Alsace, the children of the elementary school located on the street where the events took place are confined to their school.
The prefecture specifies that a “medical-psychological emergency unit has been set up within the school concerned”.
