The management of Laval Senior Academy secondary school confined students and staff on the afternoon of Thursday, May 11 after a firearm was pointed at a young student who was strolling in the nearby wooded area.
It was around 3:20 p.m. when the incident took place. At that time, the victim and a friend were walking in the wooded area adjacent to the school located on boulevard du Souvenir, in Chomedey, when a group of young people allegedly verbally intimidated him.
The scene allegedly degenerated when one of the youths in the gang pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim.
As soon as the management was made aware of the event, the Laval Police Department (SPL) was contacted and patrol cars headed to the scene, in addition to a dog handler.
The police then surveyed the wooded area without finding any of the suspects involved in this argument.
The lockdown was lifted at 4:17 p.m. and then the victim was met by SPL crimes against the person investigators; those who are still continuing their investigation.
At this time, no description of the suspect has been released publicly.
