Dozens of members of the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ) demonstrated Wednesday morning on five viaducts located above the Décarie Expressway in Montreal to denounce the government’s inaction in the negotiations for the renewal of their collective agreement.

“Montreal drivers may have noticed something a little different on the Décarie Expressway this morning!” wrote the FIQ on its Facebook page Wednesday morning.

Several of its members found themselves on viaducts located above the Décarie highway in order to “slow down traffic to speed up negotiations.”

The FIQ believes that the CAQ government is “turning a deaf ear” and “ignoring the intolerable working conditions” of healthcare professionals.

“His inaction has devastating impacts on the quality of care and on the health of those who provide it,” we can also read.

Let us recall that negotiations between the FIQ and the government have been going on for over a year.

On Monday, in an interview with Mario Dumont on QUB at 99.5 FM, Premier François Legault indicated that he does not expect “this to be resolved before Christmas.”

“It’s very, very difficult because we have to change the way we do things,” he said.
