This is what the judge decided at the Victoriaville courthouse in Centre-du-Québec.

The 24-year-old woman reportedly admitted to never having practiced law and used this fraud strategy against at least six people.

The one who normally resides in Drummondville has strict conditions to respect, namely a curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and a ban on leaving the province. She cannot have bank cards in her possession or have a job in the financial sector. She will finally have to undergo therapy for women who have committed economic crimes.

The case has been making headlines in recent months. The accused published articles on the Marketplace platform asking users for money before making a purchase. Once the deposit was made, she no longer gave any sign of life to the trapped people. In her fraud strategy, the accused regularly changed her profile photos.

She was also denounced for usurping the title of lawyer online by the Quebec Bar, which subsequently launched an investigation against her.

Her story sent shockwaves when she was sued for unpaid debts, including $20,000 she owed her former landlord for a house that reeked of cat urine. She was also sued by the Centre hospitalier universitaire de la Faculté de médecine vétérinaire de l’UdeM for debts relating to “several veterinary medical procedures” for her pet.

In addition to these six charges handed down at the Victoriaville courthouse, she is also accused of crimes of a similar nature by the Drummondville courthouse. In all, Ms.me Lalonde faces 13 charges.

The Drummondville cases cost her a few nights in detention in Laval, but the young woman was to be released on Friday by paying bail. This return to freedom could be temporary while awaiting the date of her sentence.

Mme Lalonde will appear in court in December to hear his verdict.
