As part of the Occitanie Youth Book Festival from January 18 to 26, the media library offers:
Exposition : Le Chevalier de Ventre-à-terre until February 1st. Exhibition of originals by Gilles Bachelet. Gilles Bachelet has built a unique universe that delights children and makes them laugh. Narration and image respond joyfully and his watercolors teeming with details hide multiple surprises, quotes and numerous references to tales and daily life.
Gilles Bachelet is an illustrator for the press, publishing and advertising. He teaches illustration and publishing techniques at the École supérieure d’art de Cambrai. Several times awarded, he is a flagship author of Seuil jeunesse. (In partnership with the Occitanie Youth Book Festival)
Atelier BD : Creation of a strip with Margo Renard Saturday January 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children will be invited to imagine a story in four comic strip panels, then to illustrate it.
Margo Renard is a screenwriter and illustrator for comics and children’s publishing. A graduate of the Émile Cohl illustration school in Lyon, she published Gabie aux craies de couleur (ed. Kennes) as well as two stories from The Monkey Family (ed. La Palissade).
-She also illustrates several children’s novels published by Gulf Stream and Scrinéo. (For children aged 8 and over. Registration required)
The media library will be present at the festival (Riquet high school) and is waiting at its stand.
Also meet on Saturday January 25 at 5:30 p.m. for the Teen Prize award ceremony. (In partnership with the CDI professors from the Pierre-Paul Riquet high school and the René Cassin and Jacques Prévert colleges).
