It was at the Marc Godrie high school in Loudun, in the Vienne department, that the Renaudot prize for high school students was unveiled this Thursday. Awarding this prize from sixteen high schools from the academies of Poitiers, Limoges, Bordeaux, Orléans-Tours and Nantes, as well as two foreign establishments (Romania and Madagascar), thus bringing together more than 400 high school students, to the novel, the Winter Warriors by Olivier Norek. The Basin writer was in competition with Berlin for them of Benjamin de Laforcade, (Gallimard), Jacaranda of Gael Faye (Grasset), The Jaguar’s Dream Miguel Bonnefoy (Rivages) and Masao’s boat by Antoine Choplin (Buchet Chastel).
The former police officer, immediately contacted by telephone by the high school students, was able to testify to his real pleasure in obtaining this prize, which is added in particular to that of the Jean-Giono prize. The thirty-two high school students on the jury elected the Winter Warriors in the first round. High school students who, in a few weeks, will have the opportunity to speak face to face with Olivier Norek.
Just like the Aveyronnais, whom he will come to meet at the end of the year, in a tour of signings and meetings which will take him on December 8 to the press house in Laissac; December 12 at the Le Livre en fête bookstore in Figeac; December 14 at the Carmaux press house; on December 18 at the Pont Virgule bookstore in Espalion and on December 21 at the La Maison du livre bookstore in Rodez.
