After Montsoreau, a new village in Maine-et-Loire has just won the “Most beautiful villages in France” label. A village well known for its royal abbey.

And 2. A new village has just won the “most beautiful villages in France” label in Maine-et-Loire. A few kilometers from Montsoreau, the first labeled village, it is Fontevraud-l’Abbaye, near Saumur, which becomes the second in the department, and the fourth in the Pays de la Loire region.

The municipality applied for the first time in 2010, without success. Friday June 21 and Saturday June 22, the quality and labeling commission re-examined it, appreciating “the significant development efforts made by the municipality in public spaces”.

The village of Blangy-le-Château, in Calvados, also includes the label.
