Eight months after their last major national mobilization, farmers are demonstrating again at the call of the FNSEA and the JA, in particular to denounce the Mercosur free trade agreement. Actions such as billboard coverings and “fires of anger” are planned almost everywhere. In Limousin, they have already started in Creuse this Sunday evening, November 17.

They warned and kept their word. From Sunday November 17, in the evening, several dozen Creuse farmers began to mobilize. On the national 145, at the exit of La Souterraine, they launched a “covering” operation of the road signs. On large black laminated strips, they wrote slogans showing their dissatisfaction with Mercosur: “Mercosur = death of agriculture”. Objective: to make as many people as possible understand what the free trade agreement between the EU and South America risks having as consequences for their profession:
They want to import meat that does not at all respect the standards imposed on us, such as non-GMO, hormones, etc. I don't think the French want to eat this meat, even though they are already very careful about the quality of the meat we produce and which is very controlled.

Between climatic hazards which significantly reduced yields and diseases which caused losses in animals, the year 2024 was particularly difficult for French farmers. According to them, the Mercosur announcement is the “catastrophe” which will lead to the death of breeders. Even if today they benefit from the support of the President of the Republic. « He must support us otherwise we don't know what we will become. But he doesn't have much support »worries the breeder.
Eight months after the major demonstrations which led to the ransacking of certain road infrastructures, farmers do not plan, for the moment, to block the roads. But they announce actions all week to raise awareness about their situation:
It's too difficult. We have too many constraints, too many administrative problems and it is not normal that we recover meat with standards that have nothing to do with ours. It's really unfair for us.

In the department, signage has been covered almost everywhere, in Aubusson, Chénérailles, Pontarion, etc. Banners were also installed on roundabouts and several automatic speed cameras were also hidden.
In Corrèze, the gendarmerie did not report any particular event this Monday morning, but a press release was published by the two unions to announce the start of the agricultural mobilization in Corrèze this Monday, November 18 from 7:30 p.m.
The FDSEA and the JA of Corrèze join the national movement to express the exasperation of French farmers in the face of the lack of income, the decisions which weaken French agriculture and in the face of international agreements, such as Mercosur, which compromise our food sovereignty .
Communiqué FDSEA and JA 19
Several mobilization points are planned on several roundabouts in Ussel, Égletons and Brive. The farmers plan to light “Fires of Anger” there.
