Few actors end their careers themselves. More often than not, and excluding deaths or possible criminal sanctions, they are simply stopped being called. That is why it is not so strange to see this iconic actor return to business 14 years after his last feature film.

Tim Curry, the discreet legend of cinema

There are legendary actors, known to all, but Many movie icons aren’t necessarily stars for the general public. One of the greatest representatives of this caste of actors who have made films without becoming world-famous headliners is none other than Tim CurryBorn in 1946 in England, he studied dramatic arts before travelling in Europe.

Back in England, he entered theatre circles and frequents Ian McKellen in particularwho many know for his role as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings et The Hobbit. His career began in 1968 on television, after which he landed various supporting roles. It was in 1975 that his name truly became visible to all, when he was cast as Dr. Frank-N-Futher In The Rocky Horror Show : The Rocky Horror Picture ShowDirected by Jim Shaman, the film adapts a play into a horror musical.

The film became a cult classic, making Tim Curry a British icon. The actor was later seen in Legend Ridley Scott, The Hunt for Red October, Lethal Weapon, Scarie Movie 2 or even Corpses by the shovelful. He has not been seen in cinema since 2010 (except for dubbing and an appearance in the remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 2016), in particular due to strokenow forcing him to move around using a wheelchair.

British actor finally back in the cinema

But this cinematic drought has just ended since Tim Curry is back in Streama horror thriller released in the United States on August 21. Michael Leavy’s feature film tells the story of a family chased into a hotel by a group of particularly inventive murderers. The writer, director and producer of Stream said it was a dream come true to have the icon in his film:

It’s been a very hard secret to keep and contain our excitement, especially for so long. We are so happy and excited to bring Tim back to theaters! His charm always shines through in everything he does and we are honored to have him on Stream! He is someone I personally idolized growing up and it is one of the highlights of my life to work with him, especially on a project that means so much to me. We can’t wait for fans to sit down and enjoy our film in theaters and hopefully with a huge crowd having a blast together! This is how horror movies are meant to be seen and enjoyed. Stream is here to entertain!
