He had not spoken for thirty long years. Apart from a few words in the afterword of a book in 2021, the last time Jean-Marie Villemin spoke in the media was in 2006, in an interview with the newspaper La Croix. But as the fortieth anniversary of the terrible tragedy that marked his life forever approaches, the father of little Grégory is preparing to break his silence again. Indeed, as RTL revealed on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Jean-Marie Villemin will express himself in a comic strip, in which he is the main character. The man, now 66 years old, is in fact writing the preface to Grégory, a graphic novel to be published by Les Arènes on October 3, inspired by this cold case which remains one of the greatest judicial mysteries of the last century in France. Written by Pat Perna and illustrated by Christophe Gaultier, this book focuses mainly on the trial of Jean-Marie Villemin, sentenced in 1993 to five years in prison (one of which was suspended) for the murder of his cousin Bernard Laroche, then suspected of having murdered his son.

As a reminder, young Grégory Villemin was found dead on October 16, 1984 in Vologne. Discovered bound hand and foot, only a few hours after his disappearance, the little 4-year-old boy never received justice.
