A new tragedy has occurred in the closed confines of a family home with a dog. This Monday, September 2, a baby – a little girl – one year old was seriously bitten in the face by an American Staffordshire dog, in the town of Villers-Saint-Paul (Oise). The child’s mother, who tried to intervene, was also injured in the hand. The two victims were admitted to the Amiens University Hospital but their prognosis is not life-threatening. As for the owner of the animal, the child’s father, aged 23 and already known to the courts, he was taken into custody, before being released to allow him to be with his daughter in hospital.

“Probably absent at the time of the bitesthe owner acknowledged that he had not carried out the formalities required for keeping this type of animal, while indicating that his dog did not usually have aggressive behavior”confided the public prosecutor of Senlis. The dog was taken to the pound and an investigation into “unintentional injury by dog ​​attack” has been opened.
