She wanted to do theater, but it was finally in singing that Justine Gauci found her way. The young 24-year-old from Toulouse is releasing a new single this Sunday. The first EP will be in October.
“Like two little girls, on the steps of St. Peter’s Square, it’s you and me, always ready for anything, the curly-haired sisters with the wildest dreams…” Justine Gauci goes back in time in her life. Focus on adolescence and her best friend Léa, at the heart of her second single.
“Lea is my twin sister.”says Justine. “We understand each other without speaking. We grew up together, we have always supported each other. It is the most beautiful friendship. And today she is my hairdresser, my makeup artist, my shrink too.”
Arriving in Paris in 2018 to do theater, Justine Gauci discovered singing. A passion that will never leave her: “With singing, you can be yourself, convey emotions without playing a role”. So this will be the song. Justine is learning the piano at the same time.
In 2020, the young self-taught woman even entered the conservatory. Out of around thirty auditions, she was one of the 4 singers selected: “I really didn’t think I could do it,” Justine admits. “But my teacher really helped me. It was a really stressful time.”
From room to room, Justine begins to make a name for herself in Paris, but it is not enough to make a living. She thinks about giving up: “My friends told me I didn’t have the right without trying to make an album,” remembers the young singer. “And that’s when the planets aligned.”
She meets the man who will become her arranger. She brings him lyrics, melodies and chords. He takes care of putting them into shape. And the connection is made. A first single was released in June, a second will be unveiled this Sunday, September 1st, and the 6-track album will be released in the fall.
“I would like to find a label”explains Justine. “But for now I do everything independently. I’m lucky to have friends around me who help me: one takes care of social networks, the other made my stage outfit. My EP has a budget of less than 2000 euros.”

The new single will be, like the first, available on all major platforms. Justine will also perform on Parisian stages with a concert already scheduled for November 5 in the “Les disquaires” venue.
The young woman touches her dream with her fingertip: “My role model is Clara Luciani”, Justine tells us. “I like his sincerity, his relationship with the public. That’s how I see myself in 10 years”. A simple girl, with her flaws and her battles, her life on her shoulders. “Girls like me” Justine Gauci would say.
