Cinema releases of the week (January 22) ????

This penultimate week of January is rather calm in terms of new releases entering cinemas, with 2 main themes.

Indeed, in different styles, it seems that this week’s films have come together to offer us an intimate and personal vision of the lives of 2 artists as well as to show us the difficulties that single parents can encounter ????

“Playing with Fire” – Drama

We know well that finding yourself a single parent having to raise your children is not an easy thing, especially when one of your boys takes a very dark path… Indeed, Vincent Lindon is confronted with the inner pain of one of his sons, which turns into a manifestation of violent anger, through contact with bad company. A poignant film, in which we will perceive all the love of a father for his child but also a feeling of helplessness in the face of the situation…

“Pierre, a fifty-year-old railway worker, raises his two sons alone. When Louis, the youngest, leaves home to study at the Sorbonne in , Fus, a little older and not doing as well in studies, becomes more and more secretive. Fascinated by violence, he found himself mixed up with far-right groups, the antithesis of his father’s values. Soon, a tragedy occurs…”

« Better Man » – Biopic

Reaching the top doesn’t happen overnight, and even less so without going through difficult times. While we know musical stars for what they bring to us, especially on stage, we often have no idea what they had to go through to get there. With this new feature, you will learn more about the life of the famous Robbie Williamsall the more so with a most original touch, since his character will not have the features of a human but of a monkey!

“Big budget musical biography about the biggest entertainer of the 2000s: Robbie Williams, which depicts the fascinating life of the ex-member of the boy band Take That, with its ups and downs. Robbie Williams is one of the world’s most popular and beloved artists with over 80 million records sold. Better Man tells the story of his rise, from his boy band to his solo career punctuated by essential hits. The story highlights the experiences and successes that made him who he is today and shows his battle with his demons, which he faced on and off stage. »

“The Courageous” – Drama

Once again this week, single parenthood is in the spotlight with this creation. A film which contrasts the difficulty of a woman to integrate into contemporary society and her desire to offer the most beautiful life to her 3 children, whom she covers as much as possible with love and to whom she wants to show that anything is possible!

“In a small town on the edge of the wilderness, an eccentric and delinquent mother burns herself by ignoring the rules. Crushed by her mistakes and by society which does not give gifts – or credit – to people like her, she will do everything to prove to her children, and to herself, that she is a good person. »

“Typical Emil” – Documentary

Celebrity will once again be in the spotlight this week, with a Swiss personality who has brought joy and, above all, laughter to many people. Here too the angle is deliberately turned towards the different stages which marked his career, not only professional, but also personal, since through his big decisions he above all understood who he was and in which direction he wanted to go!

“Typical Emil!” What didn’t he do? After a lifetime on stage, a tour with a circus, the management of a theater and cinemas, a graphic design office, directing, a stay in New York and the publication of books, it is now a film coming out about the cult Swiss cabaret artist. “Typical Emil – Let go and start again from scratch” brings to life on the big screen Emil’s unforgettable stage moments, his humor, his language which have made several generations of fans laugh and which continue to entertain them. The film goes beyond a nostalgic look at the iconic characters of his shows and dives into a world that sees Emil fight against the shadows of his childhood and the pressure of fame to find his place as an acclaimed artist and comedian . Finally, “Typical Emil” is also the story of a great romantic love. The film team viewed and searched never-before-published archives and searched for never-before-told stories. The result is a film about courage, love and the insatiable desire to constantly reinvent oneself. A moving documentary covering 90 years of Emil Steinberger, a life story in which the artist’s inimitable playfulness never ceases to shine through. »

If nothing tempts you, you can always turn to last week’s releases ????
