Why Cindy Fabre is leaving the Miss France company

After only three years of collaboration, Cindy Fabre leaves her position as director of the national Miss competition. Contacted by Match, Frédéric Gilbert, the president of the Miss France company, explains this decision.

Is his departure linked to the tumultuous start of Angélique Angarni-Filopon’s reign? No way. In a press release relayed on January 22, it was announced that Cindy Fabre was leaving her position as director of the national competition, after three years of collaboration with the Miss France company. If his more personal message relayed on Instagram suggests that this departure is sudden, the decision was nevertheless taken by mutual agreement.

Unlike Sylvie Tellier, whom she partly replaced three years ago, Cindy Fabre was not an employee of the Miss France company. The former beauty queen (elected Miss France 2005) had a service contract, in addition to her other activity, namely the management of her events company Ema Events based in . She was therefore mobilized occasionally to accompany the reigning Miss France during certain engagements such as the Festival, and to represent the Miss France company in certain regional elections. Between scheduling concerns and regular travel, this organization was unfortunately no longer tenable for Cindy Fabre or for the Miss France company.

“We laid everything out, questioning the scope of the responsibilities attached to this position and the observation is that as it stands, despite the adjustments we have been able to make in three years, it is complicated . » Cindy Fabre’s service provider contract ends on December 31, 2024, so it was decided not to renew it, even before the controversy linked to Angélique Angarni-Filopon and “Charlie Hebdo” which occurred on January 8.

No replacement planned, for the moment

The replacement of Cindy Fabre is not planned at the moment. Frédéric Gilbert will give himself “6 months, a year” of reflection to identify the real needs linked to this position and the best way to respond to them. Can the Miss France company continue without director of the national competition? Can Cindy Fabre’s representational missions during regional elections be fulfilled by other members of society?

And doesn’t it still make sense to have a former Miss France in the company to best support the new Miss elected, especially when she finds herself in the middle of a media storm, like Angélique Angarni-Filopon? It’s time for reflection. “I don’t want to start something again and have a failure in two years telling myself that this method doesn’t work either,” explains Frédéric Gilbert.

In the meantime, Miss France 2025 is keeping a low profile following her criticized appearance on “Sud Radio” at the beginning of January and her non-response on the commemorations of the 10th anniversary of the “Charlie Hebdo” attack. Angélique Angarni-Filopon’s media appearances are limited for the moment, but she continues to meet her audience, like last weekend, during a PSG-OL women’s football match with the members from the PSG For Communities association. On January 14, the 34-year-old young woman nevertheless celebrated her first month of reign on her social networks.
