The “Robocop” film concert will revisit Paul Verhoeven’s cult film during an evening on January 31, which will combine the seventh art and electronic music at the Pathé Wilson cinema in Toulouse.
Fans of Robocop, Paul Verhoeven’s dystopian work released in 1987, will appreciate learning that the film will be revisited by the musical trio Fragments, during a film-concert evening on January 31 at 7 p.m. at the Pathé Wilson cinema. This original reinterpretation will preserve all of the dialogue while reinventing the original soundtrack, with electronic orchestrations and robotic rhythms. Benjamin Le Baron (keyboards, machines), Tom Beaudouin (guitar, synths) and Antoine Gandon (drums, machines), the members of this collective which has already revisited the classic “Fargo”, by the Coen brothers, thus transform the symphonic score into a captivating sonic exploration.
“This film concert offers a striking rereading that goes beyond the emblematic ultra-violence of the film to focus on its political and social resonances,” explains the Fragments team. With this performance, Robocop invites us to reflect on the technological and security issues of our contemporary societies. Fragments is preparing to release a new album, “Delta City”, on March 14, inspired by this Robocop concert film.
-This evening is organized by “Ma Poule”, the new live performance branch of the cultural association Regarts. Under the leadership of Mary Diévart, also director of Printemps du Rire, it boasts an eclectic and daring program, mixing theater, dance and humor. Each show is designed to offer a unique experience, with particular attention paid to artistic quality.
