A must-see Toulouse festival, Rio Loco is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025 with a special anniversary program

This is the highlight of 2025. This year, the Rio Loco festival in the city of Toulouse celebrates its 30th anniversarywhich announces a poster and guests worthy of this anniversary date. While waiting for the complete list of artists (and undoubtedly surprises) who will perform on the Prairie des Filters, the Toulouscope editorial team announces the first information revealed by Toulouse town hall.

A special 30th anniversary edition called “Supernova”

Organized since 1995 in the heart of Toulouse, on the banks of the Garonne (at the Prairie des Filters), Rio Loco has become an unmissable event in the landscape of music festivals in France, and particularly in Toulouse.

It must be said that the musical, festive and intergenerational event brings together each year, in addition to 80,000 spectators, the big names of the national and international scenejust like the discoveries and talents in the making. And this year, the teams will meet you from Wednesday June 11 to Sunday June 15, 2025 for a special 30th anniversary edition.

Big names from the international scene return

“At the start of the year, Rio Loco has reserved its first announcement to call for sunny days with the first 7 artists who will make up the 2025 edition”.

In 2015, Rio Loco celebrated its 20th anniversary and Jupiter & Okwess were already part of the celebrations by taking the public on board for an explosive moment. For this new special season, the 6 members of the group have agreed to return to win back the public with their new album expected at the end of January.

The West Indian group Kassav’ had ignited the Prairie des Filters in 2013 (Antillas edition), and he too returned more than 10 years later to give a remarkable tribute concert to Jacob Desvarieux, singer and co-founder of the group who died on July 30, 2021 as a result of Covid.

Considered one of the greatest voices in contemporary African music, a strong and committed voicethat ofAngelique Kidjo will also be there and will thus recall her visit in 2019, when she captivated the people of Toulouse by paying tribute to the giant, Claude Nougaro.

Multi-awarded in his career, talented Brazilian singer and guitarist, the artist Lenin revealed his love for Toulouse in 2012 as part of the Lusofonia edition. He promises to shake the ground again with the SpokFrevo Orquestra, a large prestigious ensemble from Pernambuco.

Youssou Ndour (re) honors the Toulouse festival

Another well-known headliner of the festival and nicknamed the “King of Mbalax”: Youssou Ndour will also be back in 2025 with his legendary group Le Super Etoile de Dakar for the first time at the Prairie des Filters. A wild concert in perspective.
