Clara Luciani, Michel Polnareff and Tiakola invited for the 49th edition

Veterans like Jean-Louis Aubert or Jeanne Cherhal alongside more recent stars, like the rappers Jok’Air or Tiakola: Printemps de Bourges announced, Tuesday January 21, the programming of its 49th edition, which will be held from January 15 to April 20.

Each year, the festival offers an overview of French-speaking music and allows the discovery of numerous artists. Among the headliners, Michel Polnareff, 80 years old, will begin his tour in France by opening the festival. He will then give way to Clara Luciani, one of the queens of French pop, and to the singer Lucky Love, born without a left arm and who caused a sensation during the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in . Also on the program: the English DJ Fatboy Slim and the former singer of the group Therapie Taxi, Adé.

Now widely open to rap and urban music, Printemps de Bourges has programmed Kalash, Vald, Jok’Air, who had already been invited last year to Bourges by his elder Oxmo Puccino, the former Youtuber turned rapper Theodort and Tiakola , one of the most listened to artists on Spotify. Behind the steamroller of rap, the festival intends to make room for the timid revival of rock (Last Train or The Limañanas) and electronic music (Kompromat, Malik Djoudi).

As for emerging artists, he will notably make room for new French song with Claude or the drag queen Piche. The organizers are also riding the wave of neo-burlesque cabarets, with a show Madame Ose is dead. and plan a tribute to Oum Kalthoum by the Lebanese artist Zeid Hamdan.

AI also makes an appearance for a show led by pianist Édouard Ferlet, who will be assisted by a “piano guided by artificial intelligence” for a live performance. Conversely, technology will be completely banned for the cycle of concerts “Towards the glow”, where artists like Rover and Yael Naim will reprise their songs at the Palais Jacques Cœur, “by candlelight alone and in total acoustics, without any electricity”according to the press release.
