One Piece has been in the Erbaf arc since the end of 2024. Long awaited by fans, they are in no way disappointed in view of the numerous revelations concerning the universe of Eiichiro Oda’s manga. Chapter 1136, the latest one, did even better than the previous ones in terms of hype by showing for the first time what Nika, the Sun God, looks like.
The origins of Nika, the Sun God
If fans of the anime have to wait a little more time before finding their favorite work, those of the manga are in for a treat. The Erbaf arc has its share of essential information. After theorizing about Shanks’ twin brother, fans will now have a lot to do with Nika thanks to chapter 1136. If this is the case, it’s because the Sun God is a very enigmatic character.
Originally introduced by Who’s Who while in prison, Nika was a legendary warrior worshiped as the Sun God by many slaves. If this is the case, it is because they believed that Nika would eventually free them from their suffering and their chains by bringing them joy. Although its existence is not confirmed, the Erbaf arc has provided us with several pieces of information. We learned that the fruit eaten by Luffy, the Hito Hito no Mi, model Nika, has the personality of the Sun God and that she chose the hero of One Piece as successor after being held by Joy Boy. However, the most important information revealed to us is that Nika is present in the ancient texts of the Erbaf giantsand that they even contain a drawing of God.
Nika’s appearance finally revealed
Nika is an important character on the island of Erbaf, being the only deity of the giants. In their ancient writings, we discover that the God of the Sun was present during 2 destructions of the world. Given the age of the texts, the giants of Erbaf did not know whether he was a savior or destroyer god. Despite this misunderstanding about his nature, they still decided to worship him because every time Nika is present, the world changes. It is for this reason that the drawing accompanying the texts, revealing his appearance for the first time, differs slightly from what we knew about him.

While he sported a celebratory break in previous illustrations, he is here in an attack position with the classic warrior paraphernalia between the sword and the shield. The smile, however, remains the same although here he shows his teeth. The revelation of Nika’s appearance questions fans who already imagine 2 distinct gods: one savior, and the other destroyer.
