The 2025 edition of the Pluie d’Images photography festival will celebrate its twenty years of existence, from January 25 to March 8, in 23 locations in Brest, Relecq-Kerhuon, Plougastel-Daoulas and for the first time, in Plougonvelin . On the program: opening ambulatory opening, then meetings, signings and workshops in schools for 25 exhibitions by nine collectives, seven individual photographers and five guest artists, already present at the festival and which the Armorican Collective of Brest photographers and authors (Capab) has wanted to find around this anniversary.
A festival that will have its head elsewhere
This is how Céline Diais, Pierre Gély-Fort, Michèle Le Braz, Guillaume Rivière and Jacques Yvergniaux will give their interpretation of the theme chosen this year and which will serve as a common thread throughout the festival: “Being elsewhere”.
On this occasion, they drew on their past productions or created new works.
After all these years, the festival remains faithful to its founding principles: taking photos out of drawers and device memories to be seen by as many people as possible and above all, taking the time to meet, where contemporary modes of production are become instantaneous.
-Meeting the public
It is precisely for this reason, and as part of the support for creation, that the network of media libraries of the City of Brest, historical partner of the festival, renews its participation each year by welcoming some of the selected works. Everything is done so that professional and amateur artists, local or not, can meet at the various events and meet the public, in places of cultural and associative life, with open and free access.
