The concert opened with “Je ne suis pas un hero” by Balavoine and concluded with “A chorus Ouvert” by Rick Allison, sung last Friday by 500 choristers, dressed all in white, in a packed Toulouse zenith . Within this imposing choir, a handful of Blagnacais, mainly from the Ensemble Vocal Crescendo, participated in the program of the most beautiful French songs of the tour of 15,000 voices organized in 30 cities in France, with 3 singers professionals from the show The Voice. To carry out this performance, very successful according to the organizers, the choristers from different choirs in the department rehearsed the 22 songs on the program over 6 full weekends in Beauzelle, St Lys, Seysses or Léguevin.
François, who sings with Iubilo, says: “We had an appointment at 3 p.m. at the zenith to rehearse but, because of traffic jams, the rehearsal did not start until 4 p.m. Given the scale of the program we did not have not made a complete layout, but made some adjustments. We complained a little because there was no Nougaro on the program but we were told that we could not add a specific song to each region we crossed. We were in 4 rows and the concert lasted from 8:40 p.m. to 11 p.m., a first experience at the zenith unforgettable and intense, in an extraordinary osmosis with the other singers, made possible thanks to the 2 exceptional choir directors, Cindy and Annabelle.”
Under their direction, the choristers alternately participated in all the songs, alone or accompanying the soloists.
-Nadine, viola at Crescendo and who had already participated in the previous edition with Queen, was supposed to be on stage but severe laryngitis forced her to only be in the audience: “I was over the moon to sing with my alto friends, while enjoying the show in its entirety on the giant screens A beautiful moment of sharing and happiness from a distance, even if I regret not having been able to finalize these hours of work alongside my singer friends.
François and Nadine have already registered for the next edition in June 2026 dedicated to rock legends.
