The year 2025 opens with songs and joy in Galié where the festival committee invites the public to attend a gospel concert scheduled for Saturday January 25. Meet at 8:30 p.m. at the community hall located at 13 rue des 13 Ponts for an evening hosted by the Midnite Blue choir, which knows the place well since it has already been welcomed in 2024 by the association, the municipality and the residents. The people on the committee do not hide their happiness at once again welcoming the Ladies and Manel Cheniti who, with their arrival, joyfully open the festive and cultural calendar established for the new year. As a reminder, the choir was created in Encausse-les-Thermes in 2016 as part of the Midnite Blue music school.
It has 20 singers who, under the baton of Manel Cheniti, are overflowing with infectious energy. Manel Cheniti, jazz and gospel singer as talented as she is generous in her interpretations. Note that Midnite Blue’s repertoire comes from the African-American tradition.
On the menu this concert evening, a repertoire of classic gospels and negro-spirituals, often little known, but also contemporary compositions. Free entry and participation.
