The musical event organized by the Céline and Stéphane Leucémie Espoir 29 Association (ACS) was a full house on Sunday, January 19, at the Archipelago. Dan Ar Braz then the Jef troupe, offered more than two hours of show to more than 400 supportive and delighted spectators.
Dan Ar Braz, sponsor of ACS Leukemia Espoir 29 since 1998, could not miss the event and the invitation to go on stage, from President Titi Cario and his volunteers. In front of an audience fully committed to his cause, he made his guitar sing, including a tribute to his Irish guitarist friend Rory Gallagher, who died too soon, and an interpretation of a text by Clarisse Lavanant, which he himself set to music. And it was with unfeigned emotion that he gave the last notes of “Gwerz Rory”.
Jacques Brel put in the spotlight
A nice introduction before the show “Ces gens-là”, given by the Jef troupe at the request of Frédérique Thépot and Sylvie Guyon, volunteers of the ACS Leukémie Espoir 29. Musical theater dedicated to the work of Jacques Brel during which Damien Petiteau on accordion, Alain Genty on piano and Joël Bafoin on vocals, recounted, not without humor, the journey of the drunken and transfixed lovers of “Mathilde”. Stupid but beautiful at the same time, the three friends performed “La chanson de Jacky” and around twenty pieces from the Jacques Brel repertoire. To the delight of the spectators, in unison.
-The evening ended with the return of Dan Ar Braz on stage alongside Jef to perform the essential “Amsterdam”, hummed by an entire room.
Note that the artists will meet in the spring in Angers to perform this same show again. But this time accompanied by a symphony orchestra of 50 musicians.
