Toulouse: at La Maison d’à passant, an exhibition that takes you on a journey

Managed by the Olympe de Gouge association, La Maison d’à Côté in the Saint-Cyprien district of , is an integration restaurant for women victims of violence, but not only that. It is also a cultural place, which hosts various events throughout the year. 2025 begins with a photographic exhibition, a sort of visual journey exploring several themes.

“Fragments of inspiration, distant horizons and shards of feminine souls”, that’s its name, brings together for the first time, Cloé Morino, Philippe Choteau and Gérard Mailhé, three self-taught photographers from Toulouse. Three generations, linked by friendship and the same passion, who offer us different perspectives through universal themes. First of all with “Fragments of inspiration”, photos of creative arts where shapes, colors and textures mix to create a work of art, they transform reality into abstraction. The artists then take us towards their “distant horizons”.

Cloé Morino in Ecuador and Thailand thanks to her landscapes and moments of emotion captured during her wanderings. Gérard Mailhé takes us, for his part, to Capcir or to Greece, a country where he has stayed regularly for many years, and to the island of Amorgos, one of the filming locations for the cult film “The Big Blue “. Finally, with “bursts of feminine souls”, a series of portraits of women in black and white, the three artists probe the feminine soul.

Philippe Choteau chose a photo shoot of young girls to highlight femininity and sensuality. As for Gérard Mailhé and Cloé Morino, they show us all the strength and depth of soul of the women they met during their travels. “Each of these portraits tells a story and presenting them here, at the Maison d’àjacent, takes on its full meaning,” argues Cloé, who specifies that all the photographs are offered for sale.
Exhibition on view until February 22 from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at La Maison d’à vite 45 rue Jean de Pins in Toulous.
