Organized by theMoroccan Association for Artistic and Sports Creativityl’NGO “Don’t touch my child”the collective “Hna Mâak”with the assistance of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Nadira Gallerythis event will be an opportunity for the public to see and appreciate the recent works of this artist who lives and works in the coastal city Harhoura.
It relies on its own fertile ground in themes and subjects and appeals to the imagination, its precious tool, granting it the leading role and authorizing it to frolic in complete freedom and fantasy. She also trusts this rich substrate of varied materials which smolder within him in the depths of his psyche and which is made up of memories, of significant experiences, of dreams, of ideals, of a whole personal symbolism, nourished by his innumerable travel. This is how the magic of his work happens.
All of this jostles on the canvas in unexpected neighborhoods, arousing surprise and questioning in the viewer. The connection is sometimes eloquent, sometimes obscure, until the effort is made to allow oneself to be invited into this universe and to immerse oneself in it. In his works, Bouchra Samodi cultivates a letting go that allows its creation to rise from obscurity to broad daylight. Here again, the composition imposes itself in a sort of luminous visionary brilliance, from a few glimpsed elements that the whole constructs to the rhythm of the creative impulse.
-In his works, the viewer immediately notices the possibilities of our artist to methodically guide his imagination to take a few steps into the infinite territories of creation. The work further proves that the artist has complete freedom to impose a style on his subjects, without any constraint. She shakes up, mishandles and overturns the common sense of things to arrive at their deeper meaning. Which explains the firm desire of this inspired visual artist to never stick to superficial explanations and instead to go beyond conventional views towards inner realities. This is evidenced by her recent works which in short reflect the rich palette of this artist who has always included her work in a process favoring the evolution of mentalities, reflection and, therefore, spirituality.
As for her favorite subjects, Bouchra Samodi offers works, which combine authenticity and modernity and emphasize the heritage specificities of a Morocco in full movement and in full change. In her work, she often calls for the preservation of this heritage dear to her heart. It is an impressive iconographic panorama which revisits our surrounding beauty and gives us the opportunity to contemplate the authentic landmarks of our collective memory.
