This is the latest in a fruitful collaboration between Charleroi danse and Eden, the brand new En Vogue festival is coming to Charleroi (and only to Charleroi!) from Wednesday January 29 to Saturday February 8, 2025 with no less than 12 projects, 15 performances, 4 workshops, 1 battle and 1 Fancy Legs evening.
“Dance today abounds under the influence of multiple cultures, long removed from more institutional scenes. Urban cultures, hip-hop and clubbing, true centers of invention and renewal of genres, have brought new blood to the choreographic landscape. In these environments, technicality competes with creativity. […] Alongside this development, dance has gone viral on social networks which have seen the birth of communities of dancers and apprentice dancers, through challenges, tutorials and other videos. This new dance epidemic is a reminder of how communicative, accessible and haunting dance is!“

A festival with an international dimension which welcomes both recognized choreographers, who can be found in all contemporary dance festivals, as well as emerging artists from home and abroad. Also note that 6 of the 12 projects are led by women, which is revealing and particularly new because the urban and hip-hop environment was masculine until recently.
