Snoop Dogg has praised dedicated firefighters battling blazes in Los Angeles as the city continues to be engulfed in flames and high winds threaten new neighborhoods.
“They’ve never been praised, they always come and do what’s best. And when the work is finished, it’s as if we forget about them. But we have to give them a lot of credit right now — and that’s what I’m doing,” the California-born rapper said during an appearance on the set of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday evening.
He spoke of the demonstration of solidarity he experienced within the community: “People don’t look at differences, they simply seek to make a difference through their actions.” And to specify that his team was collecting donations in its clothing store in Inglewood. “What my team does is go out into the field, make direct contact and make sure no one is missing. This is what we do — it’s about love.”
Snoop Dogg, 53, also said he was willing to perform in a benefit concert to help raise money for fire victims. However, he wants to be sure that the amounts collected reach their recipients.
