A lifeless body found in a pond in Maine-et-Loire

A lifeless body, floating in a pond, was discovered this Monday evening, January 13, a little before 7 p.m., in Melay (Chemillé-en-Anjou), rue des Étangs.

Sixteen firefighters, including divers, intervened to remove the deceased, a 64-year-old man, from the water. The police also went to the scene.

Another drowning

This tragedy is reminiscent of that which occurred a few days earlier, Sunday January 5, in Beaupréau-en-Mauges. The body of a young woman, a 24-year-old student, was also found in a body of water. The 24-year-old student had been missing since the day before, after a walk with her dog.
