It’s a tradition. Since 2018, the Vannes (Morbihan) media libraries have organized a sale of its books and CDs every year. It’s called weeding, in our language! explains Françoise Le Viavant, director of media libraries.

We sort through them. We sell the books either because we have too many copies, or because they are damaged or have been replaced by more recent titles. The prices are unbeatable: €1 per book or CD and €5 for fine works.

200 visitors present

At this price, 200 people were waiting on Saturday morning as soon as the Palais des Arts in Vannes opened at 10 a.m. to take advantage of the good deals among the 7,000 works on sale. There are more people, I think, today. We had to postpone the date planned during the European elections. So a year and a half passed between the two sales. Four young people from the driving license operation were there to lend a hand to the media library staff.
