Created in 2018 to challenge preconceived ideas, the Lock & St Phil games video game fair, organized by the youth service and the municipalities of Locmariaquer and Saint-Philibert, is back on Sunday January 26. On the program for this 6th edition round table, tournaments, Crazy E-sport entertainment, self-service consoles…

“Present another side of video games”

In six years, the idea of those responsible for the youth service has been emulated. Several video game fairs have emerged in Morbihan. And the Lock & St Phil games continue their journey. “Creating this show was our way of fighting against prejudices and presenting another side of video games. They bring a lot of things to the educational, societal and even social levels,” explains Jean-Michel Barbé, head of the children’s and youth service, at the origin of the show with Aurélien Méru, youth manager at Saint-Philibert.

Around a hundred consoles available

This year, around a hundred consoles, including the PS5 and the Xbox series X, managed by the Les animations de Kibi association, will be available to visitors. Young and old will be able to play games throughout the day. Virtual reality, MarioKart live circuit, Halo space, sports games, Dragon Ball Z… are on the program.

Three professional players present

A space will be dedicated to the history of Mario, from the first game released to the last. In addition to demonstrations, three professional players from the Sinagote Crazy E-Sport association will challenge the public to beat them. Agnès Mère, emotion management coach, will host two participatory round tables, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, on the theme “Sleep, the key to success”.

The catering will be entirely managed by young people from the youth service. They will also host the “Instant Winner” game. Profits from their stands will help finance the summer stay.
