Friday night, a completely unexpected clash took place on a stage in Boston. While the band Jane’s Addiction was performing, the singer attacked Dave Navarro, his guitarist. On videos taken by the audience, we can hear Perry Farrell start to thunderously shout “Fuck”. First in the direction of spectators, then he attacks Dave Navarro, whom he hits twice. The guitarist seems incredulous, the singer is seized by an uncontrollable rage. It takes the intervention of the band’s team to separate the two musicians.

Perry Farrell was led away, Dave Navarro, the drummer and bassist of Jane’s Addiction came to join him, and they greeted the audience who were wondering what was going on. The concert did not continue.

On Sunday, Perry Farrell’s wife explained the circumstances of the fight. On Instagram, she wrote: “There was definitely a lot of tension and animosity between the members. That’s the magic that makes the band so dynamic. The fuse was lit. Perry got in Dave’s face and shoved him.” She explains that on stage, the sound was really loud and her husband’s voice was drowned out by the music, causing her frustration. “Perry suffered from tinnitus and a sore throat every night.”

If he lost it, she continues, it’s because the front rows were insulting him, judging that the group was playing too loudly and that the singer couldn’t be heard.

Since then, fans have been wondering: is this the end of Jane’s Addiction?
