The firefighters’ band of this town in Seine-Maritime managed to bring together new musicians

In 2022, only three musicians composed the drums-fanfare of the Foucarmont firefighters (Seine-Maritime). “There are two solutions, either we stop everything now, or we give ourselves another chance until the next school year in September. We are up against the wall” explained Samuel Lerouxits founder, three years ago now.

And he did well to believe in it and give himself a chance since currently the band is made up of a dozen people. “They are very motivated musicians and that is a pleasure,” he told us in recent days.

The fanfare in high demand in 2024

This drum-fanfare will be Grandcourt on Saturday January 18, 2025 for the Sainte-Barbe. “This will be our first outing of the year, knowing that we have had a lot of requests in 2024. We are in great demand. Which is encouraging because it means that what we offer is popular. And it must also be said that there are not many groups like ours anymore” rejoices Patrice Leroux who has decided to innovate musically with pieces that are less formal and quite festive.

But all is not yet won for the ensemble in which a few musicians are still missing to adapt in particular to the imponderables.

We are missing brass instruments, whether saxophone, trumpet, trombone or tuba. If there were a few more of us, it might be easier in the event that one or two people are unavailable for a contract.

Few musicians from the Foucarmont area

For those who are interested, the drums-fanfare can rent instruments for the duration of the test. “In addition, we also lend instruments and provide outfits. Classes are free. We can’t do more” smiles the “conductor” who suggests that the musicians meet every other Friday evening to rehearse at the house of associations of Foucarmont.

We have people who come from the Buchy, Londinières or even Blanville-Crevon areas. The only downside is that there are few musicians from the Foucarmont area.

Throughout 2025, you will be able to find the Foucarmont group during official events or during municipal festivals.
