Sylvain Lyve, famous Youtuber specializing in automobiles, takes the floor, six months after that of his former partner, to explain the reasons for the cessation of their channel, to the 2.5 million subscribers.
“To properly attack 2025, I want to put an end to this story”says Sylvain Lyve, in a video published Thursday on his YouTube channel. For 55 minutes, the thirty-year-old returns to the reasons for the end of the emblematic Vilebrequin chain, specializing in automobiles, which he launched in 2017 with Pierre Chabrier. The two friends produced videos of all kinds, such as testing the Nissan GTR R34 or car races with other content creators. Despite an insolent success – almost 2.5 million subscribers -, in December 2023, the duo shattered and announced the end of their channel. Since then, the two former friends have accused each other, via videos, under the watchful eye of their community.
As a reminder, last August, Pierre Chabrier published a 40-minute video, in which he criticizes Sylvain Lyve for having “all taken”. Remaining relatively silent until then, the latter spoke on Thursday in a new video, aimed at his 962,000 subscribers. “I’m fed up with having messages and comments from people who don’t know me, don’t know Pierre, don’t know the story, but who, nevertheless, open their mouths”deplores the videographer. He claims to have “did everything over the last six months to keep this matter private”.
The criticisms against his former associate continued to rain down during the 55 minutes, starting with the accusation of having “stole the money from the Vilebrequin account”. “Pierre took out a cashier’s check for the full amount of the account and today that cashier’s check is on his desk. And, it’s all the more serious since today, as president of Vilebrequin, I cannot pay the 92,000 euros in taxes that we owe, since Pierre has the check hostage on his desk.points out Sylvain in particular.
“Pierre brought us misery”
Added to this are the romances with Pierre’s former partner who would have been hired on a fixed-term contract within their company. “I’m going to try to be very concise about the girlfriend’s story. It’s just Pierre who tried to hook up his girlfriend and did nothing.”says Sylvain, who assures that she spent hours on TikTok and planned her vacations at work. He does not hesitate to throw a dig at his former traveling companion, also accusing him of having “cheated on his girlfriend”.
Another sticking point, a Fiat Multipla boosted to 1294 horsepower to make it a racing car and developed by the two former partners. Sylvain, who bought it for 132,000 euros, shows in his video a letter from Pierre Chabrier’s lawyer who wishes to recover the vehicle to display it in his Racebox bar-garage, the project of which was announced last August. “While Sylvain runs the Multipla and Sylvain pays the insurance, costs and maintenance, Pierre, in exchange, grants himself the right to exploit the Multipla to make money”it is mentioned in the video.
On a personal level, Sylvain also attacks Pierre’s behavior, whom he accuses of having “created fake tears to pity the public”. Sylvain also explains that the question of stopping the YouTube channel arose twice, the first of which during the Explorer 1 Grand Prix of the creator Squeezie. The latter brought together numerous Youtubers to carry out a life-size car race on the Le Mans circuit. “Pierre made me and the team miserable. Because the baby that is Pierre was too upset not to even reach the podium. And this day, which is nevertheless the most beautiful of my life, in my opinion, was the first day of the end of Vilebrequin”explains Sylvain in his video.
The 30-year-old also asked himself the question during the filming of the Top Gear show in Germany last year, where “Pierre was abject, whether with the team or with me”. “He became stingy, mean and even petty”he regrets. Sylvain ensures today that he is living his “better life”promising his thousands of fans to drive the Fiat Multipla this year but never to do another project with his former partner, Pierre Chabrier.
Will these explanations convince the old Vilebrequin community? For now, Pierre Chabrier’s video has accumulated more than 4.1 million views in four months, while that of Sylvain Lyve was seen by 2.3 million Internet users in one day. It remains to be seen whether the first will respond to the criticisms of the second, and whether this quarrel will continue.
