The jury of the 4e edition of the Birth of a Work prize agreed on a first selection of seven authors. The prize rewards novelists whose 4e5e or 6e book stands out for its quality of style and imagination.

Endowed with 20,000 euros, the Naissance d’une oeuvre novel prize aims to “ to support the construction of a fictional work over time. It supports the author of a work already established, but still in progress. »

The first selection for the Birth of a Work 2025 prize:

  • The feeling of twilightof Clemence Boulouque (Robert Laffont)
  • My uncle from Australiaof François Garde (Grasset)
  • Sleep your brute sleepof Carole Martinez (Gallimard)
  • The North does itof Jean-Pierre Montal (Séguier)
  • I don’t have the wordsof Laurent Seyer (Finitude)

Chaired by Nicolas de Tavernost the jury is composed of Sylvain Fort, Michèle Gazier, Vincent Gombault, Patrice Hoffmann, Marie Lloberes, Erika Menu, Claudine RipertLandler, Catriona Seth, Ingmar Vallano et Laurence Viénot (Founder of the Prize).

The final selection will be communicated at the end of March and the award ceremony will take place on May 21, 2025 at Armancette, in Saint-Nicolas de Véroce.

In 2024, Laurent Binet won the Birth of a Work prize for Perspective(s) (Grasset) and Nicolas Le Nen pour Armistice (editions du Rocher).
