Tidiane Mario, whose real identity is Jostie Tidiane Mantsouma Mario, was born in Brazzaville. He is a songwriter, singer, performer and dancer who began his career in 2013 with the legendary afrobeat group A6. In 2014, the group experienced its first success with the title “Mokossa”, followed by other singles such as “Boma relation” and “Wassa”. In 2016, the group signed with Sony and released the first single of their collaboration in 2017 entitled “Dingue”, followed by “L’invite n’invite pas”. “Jeunesse”, the album resulting from this collaboration with the giant of the French music industry, was released in 2020.

After the dislocation of this group, Tidiane Mario decided to evolve solo with his titles such as “Nana”, “Lomama”. It was especially the title “Pagaille”, released in 2021, which pushed him to- at the forefront of the Congolese music scene. He has two featurings including “Tala ngaï” with the rapper Gaz Fabilouss and “Kengenge”, with Samarino, both from Congo-Kinshasa. His single “Give me freedom” made him the first Congolese urban artist to exceed one million views on the YouTube viewing platform. The video for the song also highlights the Congolese dance “Mopacho” which will be covered. by several Internet users on social networks, in the form of a challenge.

For this edition of Trace Awards, African creative talents who will be on stage will have the opportunity to connect with others to share ideas, experiences and gain insights from music industry leaders. This major African musical event which rewards excellence aims to transcend cultural, social, historical and geographical borders, thus contributing to the development of African music and the careers of young African artists, most of whom sometimes lack visibility and notoriety. .

Trace Awards is one of the events that creates symbiosis between African artists from various backgrounds, while highlighting different facets of African culture through a rich program. Several African artists are nominated in different categories, namely hip-hop, rap, soul, zouk, afrobeat, RnB, coupé-décalé and many other musical genres. For the battle for the best French-speaking artist prize, the Congolese rapper will be in challenge with other artists such as Gaz Mawete, Didi B, Josey, Wally B. Seck.
