The work of the investigators cannot be called into question. “They studied the slightest lead, followed the slightest rumor, lifted every stone in Saint-Nazaire, but it’s an impasse” summarizes Patricia Duduit, departmental delegate of the association Assistance and search for missing persons. “It’s not possible, there must be someone who knows something and is silent”. Hence this participation, this Wednesday at 9 p.m. on M6, on Julien Courbet’s show “Call for witnesses”. The mother and sister of Théo Courcoux, this young 21-year-old from Nazaire, will testify there.
Reminder of the facts
Théo Courcoux disappeared on Friday December 1, 2023. Former apprentice, just hired on a permanent contract as an editor in Montoir-de-Bretagne at Airbusleaves work at 6:30 p.m. He has an appointment two hours later at his girlfriend in Saint-Nazaire. It’s her, Leelou, who, worried about not seeing him arrive, will raise the alarm. She sends a message to Théo’s sister, Tatiana, who says in the program broadcast this Wednesday evening on M6, that she went around the house before warning her mother. The mother, facing the camera, ensures “to have received like a stab in the stomach, because Théo always warned, as soon as he was late”. Silence. “That’s where the nightmare has begun“.
The investigation
The days pass, the weeks, then the months. The image of this smiling young man haunts the city, its plastered photo everywhere, up to the edge of the Brivet, at the foot of the Saint-Nazaire bridge, where his car was found the night he disappeared with no other clues. The police dive into the Loirethey probed the river a second time in July, without result. They fly over the area helicopterbring in a dog specialized in searching for missing people and question everything the surroundings of the young man.
Six days after his disappearance, the police raided Prézégat, a neighborhood well known for its drug trafficking. THE caves are searched as if Théo could be sequestered there, but the trail collapses. Back to square one. The file goes back to the Nantes criminal center, a special cell is opened and no leads are ruled out.
For a long time, Théo’s mother and sister refused to speak publicly, thinking it could harm the investigation. Today it is their last hope.
