Career cafés allow young people and people in career change to meet people from different professions to find out more about training and the paths to follow to get there.

Wednesday January 22, 2025, sports and entertainment professions will be in the spotlight. “We will welcome around fifteen professionals who will present their profession. We have diversified the professions as much as possible, for example there will be a sports instructor, a facilitator, a lifeguard, a sports department manager, a yoga teacher, a sports teacher, a cycle technician. We still have a little space to accommodate other professionals,” explains Arnaud Caradec, from the youth information service (Sij).

Not just for young people

Career cafés are primarily of interest to middle and high school students, but not only. “We also have more and more people undergoing professional retraining. For the youngest, these meetings also allow them to raise awareness of Sij, based at Maison services. We have all the information on directions here. For those who are no longer at school, the contact is the local Mission,” explains Célia Le Maout, Sij facilitator.

From 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., participants will be able to meet one or more professionals. “Everyone will be seated at a desk. This type of meeting can also make it possible to establish a certificate which can be used for Parcours’sup”, add the organizers of these professional cafés associating the Local Mission and the Youth Information Service.
