In a review of the year 2024 “100% stand-up”, which he shared on YouTube a few days ago, comedian Martin Petit addresses several polarizing subjects, including the origins of COVID-19. “All those here, including me, who had this problem, we had something made in a laboratory by the Chinese and paid for by Americans.”

Martin Petit made his own Bye Byein stand-up format in front of an audience at l’Abreuvoir, in Montreal. Behind his character of “the masked comedian”, who is currently opening for his tour A better world, the comedian has designed a show of approximately 45 minutes in which he addresses several polarizing topics of recent months: the “N” word, ecology, the re-election of Donald Trump, street gangs and Israel.

While spectators can be heard laughing heartily at his various observations during the majority of the show, they are rather silent during the very last segment devoted to COVID. “The most divisive subject of recent years,” remarks the comedian.

Starting this nearly seven-minute number by talking about a report that has just been released on the pandemic, Martin Petit asks the audience if there are people who have had arguments with loved ones during COVID.

“We have no choice but to talk about it”

He goes on to say that we must now move on to the other step: “into the truth.” “The virus, from the start, you had two choices: did it start from the factory that makes COVID in the laboratory or from a pangolin 50 feet from the factory that makes COVID in the laboratory? he asks. Everyone who chose the laboratory is a conspiracy theorist. But we will never know 100% because China is a communist regime and they erased the evidence. It’s the reflex of someone who has nothing to reproach themselves for.”

“Who paid for COVID manipulation to take place in the laboratories? It’s the Americans, he continues. They paid the Chinese to make something and we all got it. […] Six months later, the vaccine was no longer good. We had to get a boost. Wait a minute there. We all asked ourselves the question: maybe this thing is rubbish? We have no choice but to talk about it. We can’t pretend it didn’t happen.”
