Exuberance exhibition in Ploumagoar: he photographs germinating potatoes

The Ploumagoar cultural service is hosting from January 11 to February 15 the exhibition “Exuberance”, by Robert Gernot, industrial photographer from Côtes-d’Armor. The opening will take place on Friday January 10, at 5 p.m., and will be preceded by the inauguration of Ploum Expo.

The exhibition, made up of around thirty photos, takes a special look at the potato. The artist transforms the simplicity of the potato into a work of art. Even beyond the tuber and its destination as agricultural seed, Robert Gernot presents it. Placed, suspended, in close-ups, with bright light, the germinating potatoes transform into strange creatures, sometimes animal, sometimes vegetable. There is something unexpected in these images, even precious: when the potato sprouts, it releases an incredible force of life.
