Malo Geffraye Mériadeca young student director, and a team made up of around twenty film students met with their actors at Brametotnear Dieppe (Seine-Maritime), for the filming of a film that will allow them to obtain their diploma.
These students are part of the Femisa film school in Paris which teaches numerous specialties such as sound, image, direction, distribution, exploitation and production for four years.
Solid experience
It is precisely Alexia Gallardowho just graduated from Femis last year, who was responsible for the production of this project. The school allocated him a budget with which it financed travel, accommodation and the rental of additional equipment. She also provided these young students with the necessary equipment for filming free of charge.
When they take the Femis competition, students must already choose a branch of a cinema profession. During the first year, they will experience all positions and during the following three years, they will be able to study their specialty.
This school allows each student to have numerous filming experiences. After four years, participation in a graduation film and the writing of a valid dissertation allow them to obtain their diploma.
-Preparing for the shoot
“I wrote the script for the film in Brametot in my friend’s grandparents’ house where we regularly stay for our holidays,” confides the young director. It’s easier to think of a story in a place rather than trying to adapt a place to a story.”
He feels an attachment to this place which has a particular atmosphere, more relaxing for him, the city dweller. The casting took place in a high school in the region where Adele Thomas convinced, after small attempts at improvisation, that she was made for the title role.
Fabrice Carlierwho plays the role of his father, is a Norman actor. He was recruited by the young producer thanks to a specialized platform which makes it possible to find actors or technicians. Milo Séchan-Andrino plays the role of a little boy and an extra, M. Martina resident of Brametot, made an appearance in the film while trimming a hedge.
A girl and her father
“We filmed in Brametot in the family home, in the Lammerville forest and on a road in Bourville,” explains the young director.
“The theme of the film is the relationship of a girl with her father which evolves throughout the story,” concludes Malo Geffraye Mériadec. She has always lived alone with him since her mother left and she gradually realizes that she is no longer obliged to follow the path traced by her father. The events of the film will allow him to discover himself.”
