On X, several Internet users were outraged following a sentence pronounced by Nagui about the singer Slimane in the show Don’t forget the lyrics.
For Nagui, famous presenter of the show Don’t forget the lyricsit’s a bad buzz that he would undoubtedly have preferred to avoid. During the December 30 show, the host was singled out after an exchange with a candidate.
Having to choose a song to perform from two choices, the candidate opts for the song Paname by Slimane. When an extract is broadcast, Nagui asks to cut quickly, declaring: “That’s it, that’s enough“.
A reaction which surprises the candidate, who asks: “Don’t you like it?“, to which Nagui responds: “We will let others decide, in any case, what to think” referring to recent accusations made against the artist regarding sexual harassment while on tour.
Leaving a moment of embarrassment on the set, the sequence sparked numerous reactions on X. We could notably read: “I liked Nagui, but since his reflection on Slimane, I have been disappointed by the character“or again”Nagui, the moralist… Slimane, like everyone else, has the right to the presumption of innocence“.
When the candidate decided to keep the piece, Nagui added:When it’s you who sing it, it suits me“.
