“The Rolling Stones are older than me and they still play. So why would I stop?” Bernie Constantin knew how to choose his references. The privilege of sharing with Mick Jagger a face full of lip and arrogance and, like the Englishman, of having also been a pioneer, in the tumultuous hours of original rock. Not on the same scale, of course, but who cares! England and the world for the Stones, French-speaking Switzerland and its surroundings for Bernie. Who unfortunately lost his bet to survive them: the Valais rocker died this Thursday, at his home. He was 77 years old.
