A few days after the release of season 2 of “Squid Game”, Netflix revealed new images from the next season of the successful South Korean series, expected on the platform in 2025.

While season 2 of Squid Game was released at the end of December on Netflix, the first images of the next season of the hit South Korean series have already been revealed.

To celebrate 2025, Netflix shared a short teaser for this third season in which we see a new doll present during the deadly game 1,2,3, sun, one of the flagship events of the series.

“Everyone say hello to Chul-su,” Netflix captioned the trailer.

Release planned for 2025

In this teaser, Netflix also announced that this season 3 would be broadcast in 2025. Interviewed at the end of December by the American media Varietythe creator of Squid Game, Hwang Dong-hyuk, had confided that the next season of the series Squid Game would be released “around summer or fall” 2025.

Plot-wise, Seong Gi-hun, main character played by Lee Jung-Jae, “will no longer be the man he was in season 2,” assured Hwang Dong-hyuk. “So you’re going to see him at a very important point in his journey at the start of the third season.”

This brutal critique of ultraliberalism, which mixes social allegory and extreme violence, has enjoyed worldwide success. She is to this day the most watched series in Netflix historywith more than two billion hours viewed around the world. An unprecedented success which necessarily implied a sequel.

And the universe Squid Game still has a bright future ahead of it since in addition to a third season on Netflix, an American remake directed by David Fincher is also in development.
