Nearly a quarter of a century after its resoundingly successful first version, the musical The Ten Commandments is back on stage. In Orléans, two performances took place at the Zénith on Saturday December 28, at 3 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
If the story told has not changed and the songs are still the same, with a few new additions, the casting, staging and choreography have been completely renewed.
Twice 3,000 people attended this remake named The Ten Commandments – The desire to love. The show also pays tribute to the flagship singer of the first version, Daniel Lévi, who died in 2022.
Back to the time of the pharaohs
The start of the show is unexpected to say the least. Four men enter the stage, dressed in 21st century gala costumes, while images of wars are broadcast behind them. Alongside the photos, dates are displayed, gradually going back in time, from the 21st century to the time of ancient Egypt.
Here is the public immersed in the time of the pharaohs. Moses, Ramses and Nefertiti are the protagonists of the story. The sets and costumes, mostly ranging from light yellow to orange-red, transport spectators to the land of the pyramids. The magnificent dresses and disguises, sometimes decorated with golden jewelry and often sexy shapes, give even more beauty to the show.
Splendor and emotions await you
With special effects combining perfectly with the real sets and costumes, with a lively and rhythmic staging, which leaves no time for boredom, and above all with high quality musical performances, the final result is absolutely majestic .
The troupe of course did not fail to sing the great hits of the first version, such as The dilemma et The maximum sentencebefore ending in apotheosis with The desire to lovethen flooding the audience with a torrent of emotions.
