“In this show, Artus will not exceed the limits, because he didn’t set any! Artus returns to Vaucluse next summer with his new one-man show, and in a new place for him: the Théâtre antique d’Orange.
In Avignon, every day in front of a few spectators
Artus, 37, has had Vaucluse in his heart for almost 15 years already. The artist tells the rest Provence : “I was 22 years old and in Paris, I was touring theater schools. I had tried the Florent course but it didn’t suit me. In May 2010, my parents gave me a real kick in the ass. …! They told me: “We rented you a room at the Festival Off in Avignon (Notre Dame Theater Editor’s note), you have two months to write a show. I didn’t have anything ready, but I wrote. In July, in Avignon, I had an average of 23 paying spectators.”
And added: “But it immediately caused a buzz among the professionals. I remember one evening in the room, there were people from TF1, France 2, France 4 and M6! Two months later, in September, I was on France 2 in the show “On n’demande qu’à en Rire” (presented by Laurent Ruquier Editor’s note) and it all went from there. I know I owe everything to my parents.”
Artus on July 15 at 9 p.m. at the Théâtre antique d’Orange; places from 37 to 54 €
